“On Wednesday 13th June 2018 three members of the Geoffrey Field Junior School Council and members of the WEC school council was invited to the Houses of Parliament.
On arrival at the Houses of Parliament, pupils had a guided tour. It was a wonderful opportunity to gain entry to areas in Parliament that most children have only seen on T.V. Children attended a workshop on ‘Laws and Debating.’ The focus for this workshop was on how Parliament makes laws. Pupils came up with ideas for bills to present to Parliament and went through the process of passing one of these bills into law. They also had the opportunity to meet Alok Sharma MP for Reading West for a question and answer session.”
