SITE CONTROLLER (Infants and Junior)

Full-time 52 weeks per year, Permanent

Required for September 2026 or earlier if available 

Geoffrey Field Infant and Junior Schools are well-established schools at the heart of the local community in South Reading. The schools are part of the extremely successful Whitley Excellence Cluster.
We are looking to appoint an experienced, flexible and well-organised Site Controller to work across both schools. Do you believe children have the right to learn in a clean, safe and well maintained environment? If so,  then we would love to hear from you.


There is the possibility of appointment at a higher salary grade (RG4 £25,979 - £31,364 per annum) for the right candidate with the appropriate skills and experience.  You will work in a team of two alongside our existing site controller, and be responsible for the daily maintenance, security, facilities and improvement of both the Infant and Junior Schools.


The working hours are Monday to Friday between 07.00 and 18:30. Later hours, occasional weekend work and out of term time might be necessary, so a flexible approach is required.

Casual Midday Assistant  - term time only 

To start as soon as possible.

Pay Scale RG2 spinal point 3 - £ 13.45 per hour (£16.81 per day) 

Geoffrey Field Junior School (GFJS) is a well-established and popular school at the heart of the local community.  

 

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic midday assistant to join our team to cover our busy lunchtime between 12:30pm – 1.45pm as and when required working a 1¼ hr shift. You will be given full training.   

 You must enjoy working with children, encourage pupils to engage in activities and help ensure that children’s lunchtimes are enjoyable and safe.     

 Our midday assistants are an essential part of our wider school community and play a key role in supporting the wellbeing of our pupils.   

Flexibility is important as this position provides cover in the absence of other lunchtime controllers, often at short notice.
