Site Controller (Infants & Juniors)
Full-time 52 weeks per year, Permanent
Required for September 2026 or earlier if available
Geoffrey Field Infant and Junior Schools are well-established schools at the heart of the local community in South Reading. The schools are part of the extremely successful Whitley Excellence Cluster.
We are looking to appoint an experienced, flexible and well-organised Site Controller to work across both schools. Do you believe children have the right to learn in a clean, safe and well maintained environment? If so then we would love to hear from you.
There is the possibility of appointment at a higher salary grade (RG4 £25,979 - £31,364 per annum) for the right candidate with the appropriate skills and experience. You will work in a team of two alongside our existing site controller, and be responsible for the daily maintenance, security, facilities and improvement of both the Infant and Junior Schools.
The working hours are Monday to Friday between 07.00 and 18:30. Later hours, occasional weekend work and out of term time might be necessary, so a flexible approach is required.
The schools offer you:
- friendly and enthusiastic pupils who are polite and well-behaved
- a supportive and varied working environment
- inspirational leadership and fantastic staff
- extensive and attractive grounds with excellent outdoor provision
You will offer the schools:
- commitment to pupil welfare and the wider school community
- skills in DIY and property maintenance, working indoors and outdoors
- knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and the ability to apply this in a school environment
- energy, proactivity and a collaborative approach
Visits to the schools are considered essential for this post prior to application.
