SITE CONTROLLER (Infants and Junior)

Full-time, 37 hours per week,  52 weeks per year, Permanent

or part-time  18.5 hours per week, Permanent, 52 weeks per year

Required for September 2026 or earlier if available 

Salary RG3  SCP 5-11: £25,583 to 28,142 PA (pro rata for part-time)

Geoffrey Field Infant and Junior Schools are well-established schools at the heart of the local community in South Reading. The schools are part of the extremely successful Whitley Excellence Cluster.
We are seeking an experienced, flexible and well organised Site Controller to work across both schools.

The Role:

  • • You will work in a team of two alongside our existing Site Controller and will be responsible for the day to day maintenance, security, facilities management and ongoing improvement of both the Infant and Junior School sites.
  • • Working hours: Monday to Friday between 7:00am and 6:30pm (start and finish times to be discussed during the interview process and will not exceed daily allocation).
  • • From time to time, you may be asked to vary your working hours to meet the operational needs of the school, such as during school holidays or weekends for site works. A flexible approach is therefore essential.

SEN / Behaviour Support TA FTC 26/27 Academic Year 

From 1.9.2026 to 21.7.2027

Term Time Only

28.75 Hours per week between 8.30am and 3pm

Fixed Term from 1.9.2026 - 21.7.2027 linked to named pupil(s) on role with additional needs

Salary RG3 (SCP 8-11) £26,824 - £28,598 pa pro-rata (Actual salary £20,842 - £21,867) April 2026 rates quoted.

 

Geoffrey Field Junior School is a well-established school at the heart of the local community.

We are seeking to appoint a SEN / Behaviour support Teaching Assistant.  Your role will involve a variety of either 1 to 1 work with a named pupil with SEN, group work or whole class support across a year group dependent on the needs of the children.

The right candidate would be someone who: 

  • has experience of working with children, particularly those with special needs and in a 1 to 1 capacity.

  • is passionate about giving all children the best experiences, opportunities and learning.

  • has good levels of English and Maths

  • can work independently and use their own initiative as well as work as part of a team.  

  • is flexible and adaptable

  • is unflappable and remains calm under pressure or in tense situations.
