Year six pupils at Geoffrey Field Junior School had a real treat this week when they all went to see Michael Morpurgo’s War Horse in London’s theatre land. Mr Clare, has long dreamt of taking pupils to see a major west end performance, “I believe every young person should have the opportunity to see a live show in one of the country’s top theatres. It is the sort of experience our pupils will never forget and opens a whole new world to them, however it’s prohibitively expensive to buy the tickets and getting there isn’t cheap. I was absolutely delighted when a trustee of a national charity and our local bus company offered to work together make it happen for the children. ”
The funds for the exciting experience came from a legacy left to the Wooden Spoon (a well-known rugby charity which raises money, particularly for children). Reading buses were very generous in providing the transport for the 100 pupils and teachers.
